Group still plans to to smoke pot in park during medical marijuana festival in Santa Cruz
WAMM, a non profit collective for seriously ill patients will be holding there annual festival in San Lorenzo park in Santa Cruz. These events are a great place for for medical marijuana patients to gather and enjoy the life they live and make new friends.
The Santa Cruz police department has a different plan for the festival however. They plan on ticketing people for smoking in the park in accordance with there no smoking ban. Lets keep in mind that most of medical marijuana patients must smoke there marijuana in order to get there relief.
Valerie Corral, co-founder of WAMM told city council members that patients attending the event might need a place to smoke there medicine, and that they would erect tents for this to take place in.
Some council members, if not all of them would rather see this work out in favor of WAMM. They just ask them to respect the law.
The festivities will go on and the patients will accommodated.
